Yesterday I started a new series comparing and contrasting the modern church to the early church, as followers in Christ we are to be a New Testament church although that seems easier said than done. God has preserved His Word down through the years for a reason and as the church, Christ's bride, we can refer to His Word to know how we the church are supposed to be be. Not just what our job is but also to know how we are to assemble, the roles within the church, the structure and organization as well. As after all if the local church isn't a true New Testament church, if it's doctrine isn't sound as well as it's structure and organization then it makes it really difficult for the church to do the job that Christ left us to do. Yesterday's message is on the Corporate Church, one of the world's leading businesses today albeit far from what Christ had commanded of us. As I continue on in this series we will see how far the church has departed from sound doctrine and we shouldn't be surprised after all scripture tells us in the latter day they will depart from sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3-4). The point is we shouldn't have sinful pride that we've gone off course but instead be willing to accept our mistakes and correct them. There is great work to be done that Our Lord left us with, it's time to get to work.
Yesterday's message maybe a little different than most are used to in regards to a Mother's Day service. Today most preachers are more content with giving sermons that are in essence generic; they don't want to offend anyone so instead of speaking the truth they speak generic. It's a cleaver way to get out of lying. Mostly is because most preachers today aren't true evangelists appointed by God but instead career seekers looking for a steady job and pay, after all who wouldn't want a salary plus a house to live in. Personally I had to go to war to get those types of benefits. So if this is a career then they'll treat it as such and unfortunately the modern church is broken (more to come on that in the coming weeks). The bottom line is the truth must be told, this sermon is straight from God's Word, some may take offense but that was in no way my intention. I preached God's Word and said what He put on my heart. We must always take time to stop and reflect, reflect where we are in our walk with the Lord and whether or not we've strayed from the teachings and principles that He has called us and commanded us to do. If you find yourself off the course get back, we don't know when He'll return but if you're not where you need to be there will be no coming back. Eternity is forever! God Bless.
